Could you tell us a little about yourself?
I’m Samuel Saw.. 13 year of age and I live in Subang Jaya. I love drumming especially if its for God. ALL FOR HIS GLORY!!

Which church do you attend? And in what area are you serving, if any?
I an attending FGA KL and I am currently serving in the youth worship team.

How did you find out about Drummerforchrist.com?
 I took part in the 50 hours drumming event (boy it was fun) and found the website to be the main organizer for the event. I also received emails from the website before the event

How long have you been playing drums?
I have been playing drums for over 2 years now .

What do you practice in drums?
I mainly practice on songs such as songs from Planet Shakers and Hilsongs and sometimes I just create my own solo after playing around 6 – 10 songs. Then I will practice my technical exercises and practice what my drum teacher had taught me.

How do you improve yourself besides practicing?
I listen to my favorite drummers such as Thomas Lang and Dave Weckl and try to copy their styles. I also try to create my own unique style.

How do you keep yourself spiritually fit?
Read my bible and pray every day. Also keep myself active in church activities.

Is there any particular drum and cymbal brand you play with?
I mainly use Zildjians, Paiste, and Tama.

Please explain a little about your drum kit and cymbals (if any)
I use a tama stagestar kit which consists of a 5x13 inch snare,8x10 and 8x12 tomtom, 12x14 floor tom and a 14 x 18 kick. I use 14 inch zildjian zbt rock crash,14 inch zildjian fast crash, 10 inch zildjian fast splash, 14 inch paiste pst 5 hi hats and a 20 inch paist 302 ride. I also have a cowbell.I mainly use LA pro drumsticks. I also have a pearl power shifter twin pedal.

What advice would you give to young drummers who is serving or intended to serve in the worship department?
Being a drummer for God doesn’t take skills but it requires commitment to God. You need to know that you are serving God and Him alone.

What do you like to do besides drums?
I like to play basketball and also I like reading.

Lastly, in your own words, how would you encourage more drummers to this website?
This website is a nice place to meet other Christian drummers. It also updates you on upcoming events. I really encourage every Christian drummer to join this website or at least visit it once in awhile.
