Josh started drummin' at age of 14, there after he took up electric bass merely a year later. In the year 2000, he went to "The Jazz School", in Penang Island. After graduate, he started serving full time in one of the chinese music ministry called-" Abundance Music". Most people know him as a bassist more than a drummer, but he maintains both instruments as priority and share his joyful life through his musical life to all his friends.

How long have you been playing drums?
15 years

What do you practice in drums?
Rudiments, independent, play along with the tracks, analyse different styles of music.

How do you improve yourself beside practising?
Appreciate different style of music, not just rhythm, and also the harmony part of the other musicl instruments. I watch a lot of drums videos such as Modern Drummer, Dave Weckl, Akira Jimbo. Beside that i also like to watching other local drummers like Lewis Pragasam, Jerry Felix, Gary Gideon, John Thomas and Arthur Kam.

How do you keep yourself spiritually fit?
Always take a time to get close to God. I always have a quiet time/devotion at midnight. Most importantly, the words of God - Bible

Is there any particular drum and cymbal brand you play with?
I like Yamaha drums! =]  cymbals..both great brand- Zildjian and Sabian

Please explain a little about your drum kit and cymbals (if any)
Hmm..actually I dont have my own drum kit. The drums i am using in the video belonged to my church. My dream kit is always the Yamaha, oh ya! The "higig" drums! Zildjian cymbals, I'm like A custom, K custom, as for Sabian, hand hammered, AAX, HHX. Drumstick i choose Zildjian 7A.

What advice would you give to young drummers who is serving or intended to serve in the worship department?
First, you have to know that we are serving God, must have the right attitude: humbleness, never limited yourself on certain style of music. Be creative

What do you do when you're not playing drums? Other interests / hobbies?
I like watching movie, hanging around, Ilike watching people on the street and try to understand their life style. Everyone have their own story, it helps me a lot on musicianship. I like dancing too. I'm into hiphop, breakin'. jogging, excercise for healthy lifestyle, blogging, surfin the net to get more knowledge.=]
