JANEK GWIZDALA PROJECT
CHALLENGES THE BOUNDARIES OF IMPROVISED MUSIC
He is often compared to Jaco Pastorius, who is considered one of the most influential bass player
who ever lived. For one night only on 24 November, catch Janek Gwizdala at the Nexus Auditorium
with his assembly of a quartet, called the Janek Gwizdala Project. Comprising members drumming
legend Jojo Mayer, outstanding piano player and singer/songwriter Oli Rockberger and Audun Waage
on trumpet, the Janek Gwizdala project will present to us improvised music fusioned with deep
influences in the diverse genres of Jazz, Electronica, Pop and Folk.

With playing credits boasting jazz legends such as Mike Stern, Pat Metheny, Marcus Miller & Randy
Brecker, Janek Gwizdala has been in the international music scene for the past 10 years as a
performer, sessionist and producer. He has also toured with Australian’s top selling female artiste
Delta Goodrem and multi-platinum US singer/songwriter JEM.
