Could you tell us a little about yourself?
I’m originally from a land they call the Cat City… the 3rd out 4 champions in the family…went to study Mechanical Engineering…still 18 since many years ago…love kids but not married YET…very passionate about music of any kind.

Which church do you attend? And in what area are you serving, if any?
Currently I’m attached to Eaglepoint Covenant Fellowship (ECF) in Puchong, serving as the Head of Department for the drum section in our worship ministry, 1 Accord Ministry (1a.m.), in full time capacity.

How did you find out about Drummerforchrist.com?
I guess DFC first contacted my worship director who later passed down every infos I needa know about this site and all that...so that’s how things got started…

How long have you been playing drums?
Well, I logged 9 to 10 years of messin around since the age of 13. It’s only like 2 to 3 years ago that I finally came to my senses and began puttin a bit more effort in my playin. So mathematically, that’ll roughly be a solid 12 or close to 13 years of hard knocks!

What do you practice in drums?
Recently I’ve just bein introduced to the Mozambique pattern so that’s what I’ve been practicin these days for the past weeks…and at the same time I’m also on a journey of perfectin my shuffle pattern. On other days I’ll go back to the roots by practicin different kinds of rudiments studies & stickin patterns , especially those which I’ve not fully mastered…

How do you improve yourself besides practicing?
I personally think by playin a lot with someone who’s way better than yourself could really push you to improve in the shortest time. Other means of self-improvement for me would be by watchin videos or live performances cuz that kinda helps me to keep myself updated on what other great drummers are doin out there. Lastly, I’d read drummin articles or music scores to improve and remain on the right track…

How do you keep yourself spiritually fit?
Apart from my personal time with God, I spend quite a fair bit of time prayin together with my ministry partners in church. Besides I also spend a bit of time speakin into the lives of others especially the ones I’m disciplin/doin follow up with, tryin to relate with them as much as I could. Other times, I’d join the church’s monthly prayer meetin and all that.

Is there any particular drum and cymbal brand you play with?
I’d play with any available brands really, so long as they sound good. Currently I’m playin a Sparklin White Sonor 3007 Maple series in church with cymbals of different brands. I personally own a Black Pearl Forum series.

Please explain a little about your drum kit and cymbals (if any)
My kit specs are as follows:
Drums:
10” Tom, 12” Tom, 14” Floor Tom, 16 Floor Tom, 22” Bass Drum and I switch between the 14” Sonor and 14” Pearl Dennis Chambers Signature Series snare drums.

Cymbals:
Sabian 13” HHX Stage Hats, Zildjian 8” Splash, Sabian 10” AA Splash, Stagg 14” DH China Brilliant, Stagg 14” SH Crash Medium Thin Exo, Stagg 16” SH Crash Rock Brilliant, Stagg 17” DH Medium Thin Exo, Stillen 20” Ride.

Others:
Pearl Eliminator Double Pedal, Cow Bell.

What advice would you give to young drummers who is serving or intended to serve in the worship department?
Always check your motives and attitude when serving cuz it’s really not about you. Also, be honest in your music…try not to be someone who you’re not. On the other hand be diligent in your practices to improve cuz He deserves nothing other than your very best! Lastly, always be open to corrections and stay humble.

What do you like to do besides drums?
I’m a freak to the aviation world, love it to bits!!! Should God have not called me to serve Him in this ministry I would have been jettin in the skies today!!! In my free times I’d sharpen my flyin skills thru a flight simulator at home. Else, I’d either watch movies or hang out in any cafes with nice interiors.

Lastly, in your own words, how would you encourage more drummers to this website?
Spread the word around and encourage em to check it out!!!
