Arthur Kam, acknowledged by many as being a child prodigy when first discovered performing at the age of 6, has achieved more than musicians twice his age. He has a natural musical talent with percussion instruments, and mastered the drums at 11 years old. Arthur has also won numerous musical awards and competitions and in the Malaysian Book of Records as the “Youngest Person to Complete a Professional Drum Course.” Arthur is also a regular percussionist for local artist Reshmonu, and has teamed up with his sister Genervie for numerous commercial performances for annual dinners, product launches, TV programmes and musical festivals like the Kuching International Jazz Festival. He not only regularly performs with local artist but has also performed with renowned international jazz musicians like Sadao Watanabe and Keiko Lee.
Arthur regularly plays the percussion for ASTRO Ria’s “DARI STUDIO SATU” which has feature local artists such as M. Nasir and Zainal Abidin. He also regularly works with musical director Ramli M S on numerous live musical productions. Arthur is also credited as a percussionist on Reshmonu’s album “Monumental” as well as Byu’s “Ilham” and Nikki’s “Cara mu”.
Arthur is a product ambassador for LP by Latin Percussion, Inc. New Jersey, USA, Yamaha Drums and Sabian Cymbals.
Arthur’s biggest challenge is trying to balance school with a demanding musical career, and to date has managed to find the right balance.
